One of the most spiritual places to visit in the world is the birthplace of Lord Buddha. It was here in 623 BC that his mother gave birth on the jungle road at a place we now call Lumbini. Here is a sacred place where the cares of the outside world fade away as you connect with the divine.
DAY 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel.
DAY 2 – Drive to Namo Buddha Monastery
DAY 3 – Fly to Lumbini
DAY 4 – Full Day of Sightseeing
DAY 5 – Fly back to Kathmandu and Monastery Sightseeing

Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu and meet our representative of Asia Buddhist Tours and Treks. We will take you by private vehicle to your Deluxe Hotel and welcome drinks. Afterwards, we will visit Swayambhunath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square UNESCO World Heritage Site.
DAY 2 – Drive to Namobuddha Monastery: We will drive to Namobuddha to visit this famous site where Lord Buddha offered his body to a hungry tigress who was starving with several cubs. We will spend some time at this holy site and overnight stay in Namobuddha.
DAY 3 – Fly to Lumbini: We will take a short, 35 minute flight to Bhairahawa Airport and then drive to Lumbini (35 km). Here we will see the Bodhi tree (Peepal tree or sacred fig) that she held onto when giving birth to Siddhartha Gautama and the sacred pool where she bathed. We will tour the secret garden and the Maya Devi Temple. We will check into our hotel for dinner.
DAY 4 – Full Day Sightseeing: We will spend the day exploring the monasteries and temples at Lumbini which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will explore this area by rickshaw which is the best way to see the monasteries. We will see The Secret Garden, Maya Devi Temple in the sunlight, Asoka Pillar, holy Pond and the Lumbini Museum along with several other sights. Overnight in our deluxe hotel.
Day 5 - Fly to Kathmandu: Return to Kathmandu, visit Boudhanath and Kapan Monastery: We fly back to Kathmandu today and after landing, we will visit Boudhanath, the largest stupa and UNESCO World Heritage Site in Nepal. Then we will explore the Kapan Monastery near Boudhanath. This is a Tibetan Monastery and is of the Mahayana Tradition. Once we have explored the monastery, we will return to our hotel and have a free day where you can do some shopping or sightseeing on your own. In the evening, there will be a Farewell Dinner.
DAY 6 – Departure Day: All good things must come to an end, and this short trip is no exception. Your representative Asia Buddhist Tours and Treks will escort you by private vehicle to the airport to see you off to your next destination.
