DAY 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu transfer to hotel.
DAY 2- Fly to Lumbini
DAY 3 – Full Day of Sightseeing
DAY 4 – Drive to Pokhara
DAY 5 – Sightseeing in Pokhara
DAY 6 – Fly back to Kathmandu and Monastery sightseeing Pharping.
DAY 7 – Final Departure
DAY 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu and meet your representative at Asia Buddhist Tours and Treks: We will take you by private vehicle to your Deluxe Hotel for welcome non-alcoholic drinks. Afterwards, we will visit Boudhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath stupa, UNESCO World Heritage Site.
DAY 2 – Fly to Lumbini: We will take a short, 35 minute flight to Bhairahawa Airport and then drive to Lumbini (35 km). Here we will see the Bodhi tree (Peepal tree or sacred fig) that she held onto when giving birth to Siddhartha Gautama and the sacred pool where she bathed. We will tour the secret garden and the Maya Devi Temple. We will check into our hotel for dinner.
DAY 3 – Sightseeing Excursion today to Tilaurakot which is 25 km east of Lumbini and is the ancient capital of the kingdom of Kapilvastu where Siddhartha Gautama spent the first 29 years of his life. It was here he was married and had a son named Rahul. He left this life of luxury as a prince to eventually become The Buddha. We also will tour the Monastery zones at Lumbini before returning to our Hotel.
DAY 4 – Drive to Pokhara We will drive from Lumbini to the magical lakeside city of Pokhara which is located in the heart of the Annapurna Mountain Range. Spend the night in a Deluxe Hotel.
DAY 5 – Touring Buddhist Sites in Pokhara: We will visit the World Peace Pagoda for an incredible view of the snowcapped peaks of the Himalayas, Phewa Lake and the city of Pokhara. From there, we will visit Buddhist monasteries. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 6 - Fly back to Kathmandu: visit Pharping Monastery: We fly back to Kathmandu today and after landing, travel to Pharping in the Kathmandu Valley where Guru Padma Sam bhava meditated for six months in the 8th century. Pharping is a strong Buddhist area in the Kathmandu Valley and is home to the world's largest statue of Padma Sam bhava who brought Buddhism to Tibet and Nepal. We will visit the sacred site where Guru Padma Sam bhava attained the level of Mahamudra Vidyadhara. There are Ashura caves and the Yangleshö cave. There are many important monasteries and retreat centers and we will return to the hotel for the evening.
DAY 7 – Departure: All good things must come to an end, and this short trip is no exception.
