Lumbini Pilgrimage and Chitwan Jungle tour

Nepal is the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, the prince who forsook all the pleasures of this world to pursue enlightenment to become The Buddha. From his enlightenment has come one of the most liberating of all philosophies in the world. His pursuit of peace and good living has become the cornerstone of much of the world's society.

Asia Buddhist Tours and Treks has put together an amazing tour that will explore the birthplace the Lord Buddha in a way no other company can offer you. Not only do we go to Lumbini, but we also will spend a day visiting the many archeological sites that exist around Lumbini that relate to the development of Buddhism.

The Lumbini area is the launch site for much of Buddhism. Before Siddhartha, there were other Buddha’s who came from this area. They received enlightenment and there is no doubt that their early writings did influence the development of Siddhartha on his path toward ultimate enlightenment.  Those early writing have mostly been lost, but those sites have now been uncovered.

We will also spend two nights at Resort in Chitwan National Park with an opportunity to explore the jungle on the back of an elephant. This is how Buddha's mother Maya Devi traveled on that fateful night when she gave birth in the jungles around Lumbini. Here you will appreciate the difficulties she experienced giving birth in the jungle so far away from family.
