Ganesh Himal trekking is one of the newly opened trekking areas in Nepal. Located in the north-eastern region near Kathmandu, the region has pristine wilderness and is less crowded than other famous trekking trails.
Ganesh Himal trekking offers trekkers the chance to approach sacred Ganesh Himal range. The trek passes through lush rhododendron and orchid forests, green terraced farms, Budhi Gandaki River and traditional Nepali villages. The highest point you will reach on this trek is Singa La at 4050m and you will be rewarded with superb views of Ganesh, Manaslu, Langtang and Annapurna Himalayan ranges from so many sections along the trek.
The trekking trail is part of Manaslu Conservation Area which is a prime habitat for musk deer, Himalayan thar, rhesus monkey among others. Buddhist stupas and Hindu temples dot the landscape along with simple tea houses and lodges.
Ganesh Himal Base Camp trek is best during Spring (Mar-May) and Autumn (Sept-Nov) seasons. Arughat, which is the starting point of the trek, is 7-8 hrs drive from Kathmandu and is connected both by public and private transportation.
