Overview - Markha Valley Trek

Markha Valley trek in Leh is one of the popular trekking programs in Ladakh. It offers an exploration of all the major religious and natural sites in Leh and the surrounding towns.

Ladakh is a land of traditional villages, ancient monasteries, magnificent Himalayan ranges, high passes and spiritual center in the Himalaya. Begin your adventure by visiting the 17th century Hemis Monastery, which was built in tribute to Guru Padmasambhava of Gelugpa sect. Also do not miss the 15th century Thiksey Monastery that houses a 14m statue of Maitreya Buddha, Avalokiteshwara and Padmasambhava.

Trek down Markha Valley to Siu crossing the Ganda La pass at an altitude of 4800 m and later the Kongmaru La (5200m) pass. Enjoy an amazing panorama of Zanskar and Ladakh ranges and the beautiful barren landscape of Ladakh dotted with small traditional villages. Catch the splendid view of Mt. Kang Yatze (6400m), Nun Kun and Saser Kangri peaks. You will have the opportunity to interact with local villagers and observe their traditional lifestyles.

We organize Ladakh tours in close coordination with our local partner and local Ladakhi guides.
