Overview - Pokhara and Lumbini Tour

Pokhara Lumbini tour gives you the best of natural and spiritual wonders of Nepal. It combines two most popular destinations in Nepal, namely Pokhara and Lumbini. 

A nature’s paradise, Pokhara is home to pristine lakes, caves, museums, Buddhist stupas and Hindu temples and snow-capped Himalayan peaks. There are plenty of activities you can take up in Pokhara such as boating on Phewa Lake, paragliding from Sarangkot, hiking to World Peace Pagoda, rafting in Seti river and many more. Located at 1600m altitude, Sarangkot is also famous for beautiful sunrise/sunset views and magnificent Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail). Pokhara rests on the lap of Annapurna Himalayas and is the gateway to Annapurna trekking.

Group Size
For city tours, we ensure the standard group size, not exceed 16 pax. This group size is perfect for us to perform our best without compromising with our service quality. For this tour we provide one licensed professional guide who can communicate or speak in English and supporting staff. Also,a group of 16 participants will have one complimentary group leader.

Our staff are entirely made up of locals who are trained to conduct their duties and responsibilities diligently and smoothly. They have excellent knowledge about local customs and practices and can also perform, if needed, first aid and rescue operations.

Accomodation
There are various levels and types of accommodation facilities available in major cities such as Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan and Lumbini. A variety of choices exists from budget hotels to deluxe to five-star hotels depending upon your interests. We choose accommodation for your tour program specifically based on the destination you will be visiting, the level of services you require and your interests. Our tour programs offer single rooms for independent tourists, double/twin sharing for couples and friends.

For this tour we offer a double/twin sharing room in a ‘Deluxe Hotel’ with bed & breakfast plan. The hotels have been selected by the Asia Buddhist Tours & Treks after personal inspection. We look at the conditions of the inns, local hygiene, quality of food, type of service and more. All rooms are double occupancy, but you can request a single occupancy room for an additional fee. The availability of rooms vary between peak and lean tourist seasons which also affect the prices. We suggest you inform us in advance the types of hotels you prefer while making a booking with us.

Foods
Nepal offers a plethora of delicacies and cuisines as far as food is concerned. Major cities like Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan have great restaurants with great dining experience.Whether you like to try local cuisine, Indian or Chinese food or continental, you are in for a feast.

Please note that this tour package does not include meal plans (dinner and lunch). We can customize your tour program to include meal plans if you want, so do let us know during the booking of tour programs.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

On your arrival in Kathmandu international airport, we will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to a pre-booked hotel. In the afternoon/evening, visit our office in Thamel. Your trek/tour guide will conduct a brief orientation of your program. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Highway drive to Pokhara

Have early morning breakfast and prepare for a long drive to Pokhara. You will travel along Prithivi Highway criss crossing rivers, green hills and beautiful villages. The duration of the journey will be 6-7 hrs. Late afternoon you can enjoy boating on Phewa lake and visit Bindabasini temple. Stay overnight in Pokhara.

Day 3: Full day sightseeing in Pokhara

Today you will participate in a full day guided tour of Pokhara. Take an early morning hike to Sarangkot to capture golden sunrise views and majestic Himalayan peaks of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre and Dhaulagiri.

Later you can visit Davis Fall, Gupteswar Cave and International Mountaineering Museum. Other optional activities include Paragliding from Sarangkot and hike to World Peace Pagoda.. Stay overnight in Pokhara.

Day 4: Drive to Lumbini

Enjoy early morning breakfast and then go on a long drive to Lumbini. The journey on Siddhartha Highway takes approximately 5 hrs. Stay overnight in Lumbini.

Day 5: Full day tour of Lumbini

This is a full day tour of Lumbini. You will visit many archaeologically and historically important places within Lumbini such as Maya devi temple, Puskanri Pond, Ashoka Pillar, international monasteries, World Peace Pagoda, Sarus Crane Sanctuary among others. Stay overnight in Lumbini.

Day 6: Return to Kathmandu

Have your breakfast, and start a long journey back to Kathmandu. It takes 8 hours to reach Kathmandu. By evening you will be in Kathmandu. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Alternatively you can take a 35 minute flight back to Kathmandu from Lumbini regional airport.

Day 7: Final Departure

Today is your last day in Nepal. Depending on the timing of your international flight, we will drive you to the airport 3-4 hrs before your scheduled flight. Time to bid farewell.
