Overview - Ruby Valley Trek

Ruby Valley Homestay trek is one of the newest trekking routes in Nepal that lies within Ruby Valley between Ganesh Himal and Langtang Ranges. Still waiting to be explored, this trekking trail offers rich cultural diversity and pristine wilderness, not to mention high mountain passes and great Himalayan ranges.

Ruby Valley Camping trek touches two protected areas, namely Langtang National Park and Manaslu Conservation Area. The forests and lush vegetation provides a prime habitat for Himalayan Thar, Ghoral, barking deer, Red pandas, snow leopard, Bear, Tiger, wolf, pheasant, many kinds of monkeys and musk deer.

The valley is home to many high altitude lakes such as Ama Chhodingmo Lake, Bhairav Kunda, Seto Kunda, Dudh Kunda and Jaisule Kunda. The twin waterfall named Ganga and Jamuna is also part of the attraction. Minerals, particularly rubies, zinc, and crystal are believed to be found easily in this region.

The highest point reached during this trek is Pangsang Pass (3845 Mtr.) which offers spectacular views of four Himalaya ranges: Annapurna range, Langtang range, Ganesh Himal range, and Manaslu range.

While the area is predominantly inhabited by Tamang, you can also find other ethnic groups including Brahmin, Chhetri and Dalit people. In Ruby Valley Homestay Trek, wherever available, you will have the opportunity to stay in a homestay operated by local families/community.

For Camping trekking, we ensure the standard group size, not exceed 16 pax. We organize Camping trekking for a group size ranging between 4 to 16 pax. We believe this standard size is fit for achieving efficiency and quality. Camping trekking can become very impactful on the local environment and resources. So we make sure our camping trekking group has the least negative impact but at the same time gives our guests a fulfilling experience.

For this trek we offer one licensed, English-speak trekking guide, one cook, two kitchen helpers and one Sherpa. Moreover, there will be one porter for every single pax, and one assistant guide if over 12 pax. A group of 16 participants will have one complimentary group leader. Our trekking guides, porters and other staff are well informed about their responsibilities. And the porters can carry up to 20kg of weight. Our field staff will also include one guide who is adept in administering first aid.

Accommodations

The accommodations are chosen based on trekking itinerary, comfort level, budget and interests of trekkers and accessibility in terms of scenery and trail. Most arrangements are made on a Bed & Breakfast basis in deluxe – star hotels in cities. Depending upon your interests, a wide range of hotels are available in city areas such as Kathmandu, Pokhara, etc. During the trekking trail, you will enjoy an outdoor trekking adventure usually in a natural setting with overnight accommodation arranged in tents and camping. The ‘Camping Trek’ requires the participants to carry tents/camps, enough food stock, kitchen equipment and other logistics.

For this trek we offer two types of accommodation, ‘Deluxe hotel’ in the city and ‘Camping’ during the trekking trail. City accommodation will be arranged in Double/ Twin Sharing basis in Deluxe hotel on bed & breakfast plan. We look at the conditions of the inns, local hygiene, quality of food, type of service and more. The location for camping is identified and chosen by trekking Sherpas and the decision is based on pre-designed itinerary and other features including views and accessibility. Camping will include camping tent, dining tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent, sleeping bags, mattress etc. Please let us know beforehand if you exchange double/twin sharing beds for single beds. The availability of beds also depends on seasonality with limited choices available in peak season.

Meals

Touristic cities such as Kathmandu, Pokhara, offer some of the finest dining restaurants. Get spoiled with unlimited choices for cuisines, ranging from local Nepali food to international delicacies. In contrast, there might not be as much variety of cuisines available on the trekking trail. During camping trek, the menu are pre-designed and attached to the program itinerary and shared with you for confirmation before the trekking program begins. Water will be provided for our guests in boiled and purified form.

For this trek we offer you full board (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) as per the menu and 3 cups of tea/coffee per day during the trekking trail. Please note that full board meals are not included during your transition stay in city areas, guests will have to pay for the meals (dinner and lunch), alcohol, hot & cold beverages and mineral water.
